Meet Monty our new 8 weeks old 'Cockapoo'. Different from the family of dogs we have had over the years and he will receive pure pet training. A great little character and thanks to the breeder Sarah Benson from Gainsborough for her help and advice.

A sad state of affairs

I feel it is a sad state of affairs when the Nottinghamshire Police no longer have the number of General Purpose Police Dogs to police their own football matches, even a small club like Mansfield Town (Stags) and have to import dogs from Leicestershire. Once a great Dog Section, alas no more. My comment does not reflect on the standard of current Police Dogs or their handlers.

Is this the demise of the Nottinghamshire Police Dog Section

I have been told that the number of operational Police Dogs is to be reduced to 8. If this is true then it is now surely the demise of a Section that supported 40 dogs and was a centre of excellence for 'training'. How can a service be provided?

Nottinghamshire Police Dog Section recruiting German Shepherds

The force is looking to recruit a number of German Shepherds under two-years-old to join the fight against crime.The dogs, which can be male or female, will be assessed to check their suitability.
