Ramsbottom station turns into a grotto
written by News on the 19th December 2016 at 0:00

THE annual Christmas event at our station in Ramsbottom took place on Saturday, December 17.

Visitors, young and old, had lots of festive fun at the event, where they got to meet Santa while raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Ramsbottom’s community fire cadets.

Crew Manager Karl Sorfleet said: “We had around 200 people through the doors, with a range of stalls raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, Ramsbottom fire cadets and Barnados.

“This is an annual event and has become almost an expectation, and very popular, in the village. It was managed by the cadets and the instructors at Ramsbottom and marks the end of our year with the cadets.”

One happy visitor was six-year-old Finley Bennett, who visited the grotto with his uncle, James.

James took to Twitter to let GMFRS know that Finley enjoyed himself, and even shared with us the below photo of his nephew with Santa.
