Between 5.30pm on Thursday, October, 12 and 8.30am on Friday, October 13 we received 98 calls and attended 45 incidents.
Waste fire – Brinnington
AT 19.30pm on Thursday, October 12, four fire engines from Whitehill, Stockport, Ashton-under Lyne and Offerton were called to a waste fire at a building in Northumberland Road, Brinnington.
On arrival firefighters found that the fire had begun in a bin chute connected to the building. To extinguish the flames firefighters used one hose.
Firefighters remained at the incident for 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
Road traffic collision – Bolton
AT 23.30pm on Thursday, October 12, two fire engines from Bolton Central, along with the technical response unit and major rescue unit from Leigh were called to a road traffic collision in Church Avenue, Bolton.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they found that two cars had collifed, leaving one person trapped within one of the cars. Firefighters used spreaders, cutting equipment, lighting, blocks and chocks to safely free the person.
The person was then taken to hospital by paramedics. Firefighters remained at the incident for one hour.
