STATION Manager Ian Tracey was honoured to attend the unveiling of a blue plaque dedicated to former veteran MP Cyril Smith recently at Rochdale Town Hall.

Representing Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) Ian attended the ceremony where the plaque was unveiled in honour of the Rochdale MP, who sadly passed away last year.

Station Manager Ian Tracey, GMFRS, said: "It's quite fitting that such a prominent and local person such as Sir Cyril is recognised for his loyal commitment to the people of Rochdale.  His personality and passion extended well beyond Rochdale.
