Please bring your bins back in!
written by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue on the 03rd August 2017 at 15:41

Bring your bins back in! Firefighters in Sunderland were called out to deal with numerous wheelie bin fires last night in the Millfield and St Michael's area. In total there were six incidents between 7.45pm and midnight on Wednesday. All were dealt with by crews using the Targeted Response Vehicle (TRV) which frees up the larger vehicles for more serious incidents. It seems Wednesday was refuse collection day in some streets in the area and unfortunately it looks as though the bins targeted were those that had been emptied, but not brought back inside the grounds of the owner's property. Northumbria Police have been informed and are investigating, anyone with information which may help their enquiries should call police on 101. TWFRS is asking residents to help by bringing their bins back in as soon as possible, nce they've been emptied.
