Man charged as part of investigation into historic sex abuse at Manchester music schools

A man has been charged as part of an investigation into historic sexual abuse at music schools in Manchester.

Malcolm Layfield (16/12/1951), of Victoria Pit Marina, Higher Poynton, Cheshire, has been charged with one count of rape.

He is due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on 14 August 2014.

The charge relates to the rape of a woman in 1982 when she was 18.
